The short version
- This site does not use cookies of any kind.
- This site does not profile individual visitors.
- This site does not share personal data with advertisers.
- The only data processed is what you voluntarily send through the contact form, and aggregated, anonymous analytics.
Analytics: Plausible
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused, EU-hosted alternative to Google Analytics. Plausible is the only analytics tool loaded on this site, and it is configured in its default privacy mode.
What Plausible collects, in aggregate only, for each page view:
- URL of the page visited
- HTTP referrer (the page that linked to us, if any)
- Browser type (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
- Operating system family (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux)
- Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
- Country (derived from IP, then the IP is discarded immediately)
What Plausible does not collect:
- Your IP address (it is hashed with a daily-rotating salt and is not retained)
- Any cookie identifier, fingerprint, or persistent ID
- Anything that would allow us (or anyone else) to identify you individually or correlate your visits across sessions
Because Plausible processes only aggregate, anonymous data, it does not require your consent under the GDPR or the French ePrivacy directive, and we do not display a cookie banner.
Plausible's data policy: plausible.io/data-policy .
Contact form
When you send a message via the contact form, we process the following data:
- The name you provide
- The email address you provide
- The content of your message
- Your IP address and User-Agent at the moment of submission (for anti-abuse purposes)
Purpose: respond to your message.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering correspondence
(GDPR art. 6.1.f), and your consent expressed by sending the form
voluntarily (art. 6.1.a).
Retention: messages are kept for as long as needed to
handle the conversation, and then deleted within 12 months.
Recipients: the editorial team of F5 Media only. We do
not transfer your message to any third party.
Affiliate links
When you click an outbound link to a partner (GetYourGuide, Tiqets, Skyscanner), you leave this site and enter the partner's domain. From that point on, the partner's own privacy policy applies. F5 Media does not transmit any of your personal data to those partners. The partner sees only the standard information your browser sends when visiting any website (IP, User-Agent), and they may receive a referral identifier indicating that you came from azores-expert.com.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. No first-party cookies, no third-party cookies, no local storage tracking. The only technical state that may exist is short-lived browser cache for static assets (images, CSS, JS).
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you (art. 15)
- Rectify inaccurate data (art. 16)
- Erase your data, also known as the "right to be forgotten" (art. 17)
- Restrict the processing of your data (art. 18)
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format (art. 20)
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest (art. 21)
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, CNIL, or the equivalent authority in your country of residence.
To exercise any of these rights, use the contact form. We respond within one month, as required by the GDPR.
Data transfers outside the EU
Plausible Analytics is hosted within the European Union. The hosting provider for the site itself, O2switch, operates from France. F5 Media does not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area.
Affiliate partners (GetYourGuide is based in Germany, Tiqets in the Netherlands) are EU companies. Skyscanner operates in the UK and processes data under the UK GDPR, which the European Commission has recognized as providing adequate protection.
Changes to this policy
If we change the way personal data is processed on this site, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes (new third-party processors, change of purpose) will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
